August 2019 Visa Bulletin

The Department of State has released the August 2019 Visa Bulletin. You can access the copy of the Visa Bulletin on the Department of State website here.

Note: USCIS has designated the Final Action Dates chart for employment-based adjustment of status applications and the Dates for Filing chart for family-sponsored adjustment of status applications within the U.S. for August 2019.

Below are some key changes for the employment-based preference categories this month:

Final Action Dates for Employment-Based Preference Cases:

• EB1:
  • EB1 China retrogressed and moved backwards 1 year from 05/08/2017 to 07/01/2016.
  • EB1 India remains at 01/01/2015.
  • All other EB1 retrogressed and moved backwards 2 years from 04/22/2018 to 07/01/2016.
• EB2:
  • EB2 China moved forward 2 months from 11/01/2016 to 01/01/2017.
  • EB2 India moved forward 1 week from 04/24/2009 to 05/02/2009. 
  • All other EB2 retrogressed and moved backwards 2 years from being current to 01/01/2017.
• EB3:
  • EB3 China moved forward 6 months from 01/01/2016 to 07/01/2016.
  • EB3 India retrogressed and moved backwards 3 years from 07/01/2009 to 01/01/2006.
  • EB3 Philippines retrogressed and moved backwards 3 years from being current to 07/01/2016.
  • All other EB3 retrogressed and moved backwards from being current to 07/01/2016.
• EB5:
  • EB5 China moved forward 2 weeks from 10/01/2014 to 10/15/2014.
  • EB3 India retrogressed further and moved backwards 3 years from 05/01/2017 to 10/15/2014.
  • EB5 Vietnam retrogressed and moved backwards 2 years from 10/01/2016 to 10/15/2014.
  • All other EB5 remain current.

Below are some key changes for the family-sponsored categories this month:

Dates for Filing for Family-Sponsored Cases:

• F1:
  • F1 for China and India moved forward 4 months from 11/08/2012 to 03/01/2013.
  • F1 Mexico moved forward 10 days from 10/22/1999 to 11/01/1999.
  • F1 Philippines moved forward 16 weeks from 05/01/2008 to 08/22/2008.
  • All other F1 moved forward 4 months from 11/08/2012 to 03/01/2013.
• F2A: All F2A remain current. Although the Dates for Filing chart applies to family-sponsored categories, since the F2A category remains “current” on the Final Action Dates chart, F2A applicants may file using the Final Action Dates chart for August 2019 which is current.
• F2B:
  • F2B for China and India moved forward 2 weeks from 08/15/2014 to 09/01/2014.
  • F2B Mexico moved forward 6 weeks from 12/22/1998 to 02/01/1999.
  • F2B Philippines moved forward 3 months from 08/01/2008 to 11/01/2008.
  • All other F2B moved forward 2 weeks from 08/15/2014 to 09/01/2014.
• F3:
  • F3 for China and India moved forward 15 weeks from 09/08/2007 to 12/22/2007.
  • F3 Mexico moved forward 1 week from 07/08/2000 to 07/15/2000.
  • F3 Philippines moved forward 2 months from 02/01/1998 to 04/01/1998.
  • All other F3 moved forward 15 weeks from 09/08/2007 to 12/22/2007.
• F4:
  • F4 China remains at 12/15/2006.
  • F4 India moved forward 3 weeks from 04/22/2005 to 05/15/2005.
  • F4 Mexico moved forward 2 weeks from 12/08/1998 to 12/15/1998.
  • F4 Philippines moved forward 4 months from 07/01/1998 to 11/01/1998.
  • All other F4 remain at 12/15/2006.
