2017年8月30日，宋和孟律师事务所的律师应邀拜访了位于Laguna Niguel的加州处理中心（California Service Center），参观了该中心的内部设施和运作，也参与了移民局及劳工部等多个政府部门的交流会。

美国境内一共有五大处理中心，各自承担不同类型和不同地区的移民申请审理职能。五大处理中心分别位于：California, Nebraska, Vermont, Texas, Potomac。粗略划分一下的话，Potomac审理家庭类的移民申请、学生的工作许可以及投资移民，Nebraska和Texas以审理家庭以及职业类的移民申请为主，而California和Vermont以审理非移民类的申请为主。也就是说，工作类的非移民申请，比如H和L等申请，根据工作所在地区不同，会交由California或Vermont处理中心来审理。因此，加州处理中心是工作类非移民申请的处理重地。

移民局向部分业内人士开放处理中心，一般最多一年一次。这是加州处理中心史上第四次开放参观，是了解移民局内部运行情况并与政府代表沟通的好机会。宋和孟律师事务所的律师今年再次拜访加州处理中心，除了加深对于移民局内部运作的了解外，也跟进了最近案件处理的一些动向，在此和大家分享。
