2017年1月，川普正式入驻白宫。由于曾在竞选期间多次做出对移民不利好的发言，使得川普的正式上台在移民群体内人心惶惶。上台伊始，改革方案历经多次泄密乌龙，真假莫辨。之后颁布针对中东国家的旅行禁令，撤销DACA（非法移民的工作许可），在舆论上都掀起了大波澜。
